Mayor Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) announced on January 16, 2026, the selection of Rift Valley Chevy Chase, LLC (Rift Valley) to redevelop the Chevy Chase Civic Site.

The project as proposed will deliver a modern public library, a new community center, and 177 units of affordable and market-rate housing.

Ingleside Medical Campus Plan

Site Plan of the Ingleside Project

Ingleside at Rock Creek has announced plans to seek approval from the DC Zoning Commission for a new Medical Campus Plan and a significant expansion of its retirement community campus at 3050, 3020, and 3024 Military Road NW.

Key elements of the proposal include:

• Construction of an approximately 175,000 square-foot six-story building behind and connected to Ingleside's existing old stone Manor House.  The new building will contain about 60 new independent-living units for between 90 to 120 senior residents.

• Construction of a three-level parking garage underneath the six-story building with approximately 115–120 parking spaces, accessed from within the campus and from Broad Branch Road.

• An underground pedestrian walkway connecting the new building and the Manor House to existing Ingleside apartment building #4.

• Demolition of an existing single-family house at 3024 Military Road NW (most recently used as a construction office for Ingleside’s last expansion) and replacement with a similarly scaled building containing one two-bedroom independent senior living unit.
